Danbury VINELink Release Coverage
Connecticut calls its service the Connecticut Statewide Automated Victim Information Notification system, or CT SAVIN. It is accessed through VINELink Connecticut. The Connecticut Office of Victim Services and CT DOC use it to deliver court and correctional notices about a specific person. Notifications are available in English and Spanish through phone, email, and TTY. The toll-free access number is 1-866-277-7477.
Coverage follows the record, not the Danbury city boundary. A Danbury police arrest may create a court case without a long CT DOC stay. A person remanded through Danbury Superior Court may be held at Bridgeport Correctional Center or another state facility. The “Offenders” record covers CT DOC information. The “Offenders with court cases” record covers judicial information. CT SAVIN is therefore useful where Danbury has no city jail roster or local recent-release feed, but it remains a person-specific notification service rather than a list of everyone recently released.

An offender record describes the correctional feed. A court-case record describes the judicial feed. A pending Danbury case may remain open after a person bonds out, while a correctional result may change after discharge.

A no-result may mean release, a spelling mismatch, a record outside public scope, a different custody system, or a feed delay. It does not prove that no arrest or court case exists.

Read Danbury VINELink Release Results
A VINELink result is a notice from the agency feeding that record. For an accused person, CT DOC identifies bond out from a correctional facility and discharge from court as possible events. For a sentenced person, release-related events include community-release placement and end-of-sentence notification. Other notices may involve a parole hearing, community-release review, escape, return to custody, absconding from a community placement, or death.
Not every event means the person is free from all legal control. Bond out means release from the facility under the bond process. Court discharge is a judicial event. Community placement can involve supervision outside a prison. End of sentence speaks to the Connecticut sentence being tracked, but another case, detainer, federal status, or immigration custody can still exist.

Danbury VINELink Uses Two Tabs
Danbury’s most important CT SAVIN detail is the two-tab rule. The CT DOC Victim Services Unit says “Offenders” carries Connecticut DOC information and “Offenders with court cases” carries judicial information. A user who wants correctional and court notifications must register under both when the person appears in both systems. One registration does not automatically stand in for the other.
This split reflects the local path. Danbury Police may make the arrest, the Danbury Judicial District or Geographical Area 3 court may control bond and case events, and CT DOC may hold the person at Bridgeport Correctional Center. A bond-out alert from the correctional side does not describe every later court event. A court notice does not prove the person’s current physical location. Registering under both records keeps those event streams distinct while covering more of the journey.
The distinction also prevents a common release error. A person can leave Bridgeport Correctional Center after bond is posted and still have an active Danbury case. In that situation, the correctional tab may report the custody change while the court tab continues to report hearings or other case events. The reverse can matter too. A court event does not erase a DOC sentence, special parole term, detainer, or later placement that belongs to a different record. Read each alert as one part of the timeline.
Use the names and identifiers displayed in each result to make sure both registrations refer to the same person. Keep the registration methods current. - Complete the PIN, confirmation, or verification step shown on the live screen.
- Save any registration details needed to manage or confirm the alert later.
- Repeat registration under the second tab if court and correctional notices are both needed.
Alerts can be useful for bond out, discharge, return to custody, a parole hearing, a community-release review, placement, or end of sentence. Delivery is not the same as independent confirmation. Record the event type and feeding agency, then check that agency if the timing or practical effect matters.

Danbury VINELink Search Limits
CT SAVIN is not a complete historical record. CT DOC says notifications generally stop once a person discharges and completes the Connecticut sentence. If probation remains as a post-incarceration condition and a violation returns the person to the system, a later notice may occur. A user may need to register again if the person re-enters the justice system. Silence from an old registration is therefore not proof of current status.
Data also depends on the feeding agency. A release event can occur before every public system reflects it. CT DOC’s public inmate search receives a nightly OBIS feed, so it may lag a live custody change. Conversely, a released person may later drop out of a search designed for current DOC custody. The Danbury court docket can remain visible because it tracks the case rather than the jail stay.
Confirm a Danbury VINELink Release
Confirmation should follow the event. For bond out or court discharge, use the Danbury Judicial Branch docket and clerk record. For a CT DOC custody or sentence event, use the official inmate search and CT DOC Public Information Office. A records request may be needed when a released person has left the current-custody search.
For FCI Danbury, use the BOP inmate locator. BOP uses “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” when a person is no longer held by BOP, but that does not answer whether another system or federal supervised release applies.
