Bridgeport Correctional Center Releases
Bridgeport Correctional Center is a Connecticut Department of Correction facility, not a Danbury city jail. CT DOC describes it as a Level 4 high-security correctional center that confines pretrial and sentenced people. Its court service area includes Ansonia, Derby, Milford, Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford. A Danbury Police arrest can therefore lead to custody in Bridgeport after court action.
Someone may leave Bridgeport Correctional Center by posting bond, through a court discharge, after a sentence, through parole or another community placement, or by transfer to a different DOC facility or outside authority. A transfer ends custody at Bridgeport but not custody as a whole. Check the receiving system before concluding that the person returned to the community.
The official Bridgeport Correctional Center facility page identifies the facility and Danbury court connection.

The facility page establishes where Danbury-area state custody may occur, while release confirmation comes from CT DOC, court, CT SAVIN, or requested records.
Confirm Bridgeport Correctional Center Release
The statewide CT DOC inmate search is the first check. CT DOC says the public search is populated nightly from its Offender Based Information System. Search by inmate number when known. Otherwise, CT DOC suggests entering only the first few letters of the last name and adding more information only when needed.
- Open the official CT DOC inmate search service and follow its link to the Inmate Information Search portal.
- Search by CT DOC number or the first letters of the last name, then confirm identity with name and birth date.
- Read current location and status to see whether Bridgeport Correctional Center or another DOC site is reported.
- For a pretrial person, review bond amount and compare it with the Danbury court docket. Bond listed is not proof that bond was posted.
- For a sentenced person, review sentence date, maximum sentence, estimated release date, maximum release date, and special parole date.
- Check detainer information because another agency hold can change where the person goes after DOC release.
- If the person is absent, use the court docket, CT SAVIN, and DOC Public Information Office for past release confirmation.
A released person may disappear from the current-custody portal. Do not interpret a no-result as proof that there was no Bridgeport custody stay. Legal limits, public-safety restrictions, data timing, or discharge can also affect the result.
Note: The nightly CT DOC feed may not reflect a new Bridgeport release at the same moment the physical custody change occurs.
Bridgeport Release Search Fields
The CT DOC field set helps distinguish identity, current custody, sentence dates, and what may happen next. No single field proves full release from every authority. Read related fields together and compare them with the court record.
| CT DOC field | Release meaning |
|---|---|
| Inmate number, name, birth date | Confirms identity before the result is used |
| Latest admission date | Marks the current reported DOC intake period |
| Current location and status | Shows reported custody in the nightly feed |
| Bond amount | Provides pretrial bond data, not proof of release |
| Controlling offense and sentence date | Connects the reported sentence to custody |
| Estimated release date | Shows the current CT DOC estimate and may change |
| Maximum release date | Shows the reported sentence endpoint |
| Special parole date | Signals a post-prison supervision component |
| Detainer information | Warns that another authority may take custody |
Estimated and maximum release dates are not the same. Nor is either date the same as parole eligibility. Parole is a discretionary release decision by the Board of Pardons and Paroles, while special parole is a supervision term following prison.
Bridgeport CT DOC Search Source
The official CT DOC Inmate Search service is the correct state gateway for someone housed at Bridgeport Correctional Center.

This source links custody questions to the statewide system rather than a nonexistent Danbury or Bridgeport recent-release list.
The separate search portal shown below is where the name or CT DOC number is entered.

The result must still be read as current CT DOC data, not as a permanent archive of all former Bridgeport Correctional Center detainees.
Bridgeport Releases for Danbury Cases
The Danbury Judicial District and Geographical Area 3 docket can explain the court event behind a Bridgeport custody change. Pending defendant searches accept the beginning of a last name, first initial, birth year, year range, court location, and category. The conviction search can help with a sentence or disposed case.
A bond-out may leave the case pending. A court discharge can end the custody basis. A sentence can place someone in Bridgeport custody or another DOC facility. Probation may follow release, while special parole belongs to the state correctional and parole framework. Use the docket to identify the event, then CT DOC or CT SAVIN to confirm the custody change.
The Judicial Branch warns that conviction data can change due to erasures, corrections, pardons, and other modifications. An older result can therefore change or disappear lawfully.
Bridgeport Release Notifications
CT SAVIN through VINELink is the forward-looking release alert system. CT DOC identifies two tabs. “Offenders” covers Connecticut corrections information. “Offenders with court cases” covers judicial information. Register under both when a Danbury case and Bridgeport custody both matter.
Supported events can include bond out from a correctional facility, discharge from court, return to custody, parole hearing dates, community release review or placement, end-of-sentence notification, escape or absconding, and death. CT SAVIN is not a complete historical archive, and notices may stop after discharge unless a violation or new case returns the person to the system.
Request Bridgeport Release Records
Use CT DOC for state custody, intake, status, sentence and release dates, detainers, bond information in DOC records, and any disclosable intake photograph. The Office of Public Information is the records fallback when the current portal no longer answers the past release question.
CT DOC Public Information Office
24 Wolcott Hill Road
Wethersfield, CT 06109
Phone: (860) 692-7780
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Email: DOC.PIO@ct.gov
Identify the person by name, birth date, and CT DOC number when known. Include the Danbury docket if it connects the custody period. Ask for disclosable records showing intake, current or released status, release date, release type or reason, detainer, and bond or release information.
CGS § 1-210 supplies Connecticut’s general public-record access rule, subject to exemptions. Certain inmate data may be withheld because of statutory or public-safety limits. Juvenile, erased, sealed, victim, medical, and security material can also be restricted.
Note: Ask CT DOC for the state custody record and the Danbury clerk for the court order or disposition record.
Bridgeport Correctional Center Contact
The facility contact is useful for institution-specific questions, but the public search and Public Information Office remain the stronger release-record channels. Bridgeport Correctional Center does not publish a 24-hour or 72-hour release feed.

CT DOC lists Administration Warden Jesus Guadarrama and Deputy Wardens Jamel Linen and Mark Bonaventura. Visiting is pre-scheduled and requires a request, an approved active visiting list, and confirmation. Visiting approval is not a release-status service.
Bridgeport Release Supervision
A person can leave Bridgeport Correctional Center under parole, special parole, transitional or community release, probation, or at the end of sentence. BOPP makes state parole decisions. CT DOC Parole and Community Services supervises people released under the Commissioner or Board. Probation belongs to the Judicial Branch.
The CT DOC special parole date can signal a post-prison term, but it should be checked with the sentence and supervision source. BOPP’s voted-to-parole date is an “on or after” date, not a promise that release occurs at a fixed time. Conditions, transportation, sponsor arrangements, discipline, or new information can affect the actual date.
The Danbury Probation & Parole page separates these supervision paths.
Bridgeport Current Versus Past Release
Current custody and past release require different evidence. While someone remains at Bridgeport Correctional Center, CT DOC location and status are the main public fields. After discharge, the current result may no longer be available. Then the court docket, CT SAVIN notice, Public Information Office, and requested DOC record become more useful.
- Current Bridgeport custody
- Use CT DOC location and status.
- Recent change
- Allow for the nightly feed and confirm with court or CT SAVIN.
- Past Bridgeport release
- Use DOC Public Information and the Danbury case record.
- Post-release supervision
- Use BOPP, Parole and Community Services, or Adult Probation.
- Transfer
- Check the receiving DOC facility or outside authority.
Bridgeport and Federal Release Paths
Bridgeport Correctional Center is part of CT DOC. FCI Danbury is a federal BOP institution. A person released from FCI Danbury is searched through the BOP locator, not the CT DOC portal. A person released from Bridgeport Correctional Center is checked through CT DOC, the state court, and CT SAVIN.
ICE custody is separate too. If the CT DOC detainer field or court record supports an immigration transfer, a Bridgeport release may lead into ICE custody rather than the community. The full handoff sequence is summarized on the Danbury County released inmates home page.
Note: Similar city names do not merge Bridgeport state custody, Danbury federal custody, or immigration custody into one release record.
